Social media is ridiculously important to performing artists.
I spent the last year studying for an MA in Creative Entrepreneurship through the University of East Anglia. This was a fantastic year filled will learning of how to thrive as a creative business person.
My dissertation was entitled: Keep the Conversation Going: 65 Social Media Strategies for Performing Artists.
I am going to share sections of the dissertation here on the blog in order to jump start a conversation around using Social Media to promote and develop business for yourself as a creative entrepreneur.
Because the truth is, your career is your business.
Without social media, actors and other creative performers can’t survive.
I’ll be covering different ways for you to use social media. To further your business, to reach customers or get gigs. You’ve got to be out there in the social media world.
The dissertation was slanted towards performing artists, but I think the application of the ideas is equally as valid for all creative people.
So keep an eye on this blog. I’ll try to post a new section at least once a week.
I invite you to make comments or ask questions – it can help us to get a conversation going around how you can thrive as a creative person.
